As the lake was totally socked in with smoke from the wildfire, we switched gears and went to the overlook after the ceremony to cut their beautiful gluten-free Foxtail Bakeshop cake, eat strawberries and sip champagne. We still had other hikes we would've liked to do, and sitting, reading or picnicking along the Lake's rim never gets old. I guess the weather is always a gamble, but we truly loved our time in Crater Lake before moving south to Redwood National Park.
